PROXIMITY by Paul Purgas (Emptyset/Body Hammer) & Shelley Parker (Structure) @ FIELD RECORDINGS, FIVE YEARS gallery (4 - 6 pm)

As part of the FIELD RECORDINGS programme at Five Years, PROXIMITY is a collaboration between Shelley Parker and Paul Purgas taking the form of a live sound performance using outputs from various microphones suspended from outside the 5 years building alongside a series of contact mics connected to the surface of the gallery walls. The performance will be a continuous mix of live sound from the microphone feeds integrated with effects and signal processing techniques in the style of a live environmental DJ set.

STRUCTURE is taking part in SWAP MEET, an exciting new event at the BARBICAN this Saturday 20th Feb. Inspired by the Swap Meets that took place in LA in the 80’s where artists such as Dr Dre first distributed their live mix tapes, Swap Meet is a space to swap sounds, beats, samples and tracks.

Structure will have a listening post where people can come and listen to tracks from the forthcoming Structure CD, Emptyset material & Structure affiliates ...
